Airbus-Eads, exchange of seats at the top

Passing the baton to the top management of Airbus. Fabrice Brégier is the new president and CEO of the aircraft manufacturer controlled by the Franco-German aerospace giant EADS. The forty-year-old manager, who takes over from German Tom Enders (53), will remain in office for five years.

Brégier was formerly the company's chief financial officer. The first move of the new president and CEO - reads a note - was the appointment of the executive committee. The program for the new A350 XWB, led by Didier Evrard, will continue to report directly to Bregier.

His predecessor, Enders, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of EADS, of which Arnaud Lagardère in turn became president. No surprise therefore from the annual meeting of shareholders of the Franco-German group, which implemented the names indicated in the agreements at the end of January. The new board, which includes, among others, the former ECB president Jean-Claude Trichet and the Indian businessman Lakshmi N. Mittal, will remain in office for the next five years.
