Air France-KLM imposes conditions on Alitalia, but reassures that the brand will be respected. “If Alitalia becomes one of the three big brands of the group – states the CEO of Air France-KLM Alexandre de Juniac – no brand will be treated worse than the others”. According to the leadership of the Franco-Dutch group "Alitalia is a national symbol of value towards which we have no intention of having prejudices, whatever happens".
After the carrot, however, comes the stick because Air France-Klm let it be known, again through the mouth of its CEO, that "Our conditions for helping Alitalia are very strict" and in case of failure to comply with those requirements considered essential "we will not go any further".
"We are extremely vigilant - concludes de Juniac -, I'm ready to advance, but otherwise we won't be able to do it"
