Air France: CEO leaves after no new contract workers

There is no peace for the airlines. And not only in Italy.

The CEO of Air France-KLM, Jean-Marc Janaillac, announced his resignation after the referendum among Air France workers on the new contract saw the victory of those who are not in favour. 80,33% of Air France's 46.771 employees voted in the referendum and 55,44% voted against the draft new contract.

Janaillac, who he had proposed to put the contract to a vote, indicated in a note that he assumes the consequences of the outcome and that he will hand over his resignation to the board of directors of Air France and that of Air France-KLM. "I hope that my exit will allow for the creation of a collective awareness and to start the conditions for a recovery," the manager wrote in a note.
