Agricole-Casse: clarification on the negotiations

A turning point seems to have arrived in the negotiations for the acquisition of the three Banks of central Italy by Credit Agricole - Cariparma. An extraordinary meeting of the Board of the Voluntary Scheme of the Interbank Fund chaired by Salvatore Maccarone has been convened for today, Friday.

The Board could therefore convene the meeting necessary to increase the dowry of the Scheme, currently equal to 420 million, to facilitate the transfer of Cassa Cesena, Rimini and San Miniato under the umbrella of the Italian bank of the French group

The scheme of the Fund must bear the costs of the pre-sale recapitalization of Rimini and San Miniato as well as participate in the securitization of non-performing loans amounting to 3 billion. The Atlante2 fund will also participate in the operation.

The Bank of Italy and the Ministry of the Economy are closely following the match to avert the first bail-in of Italian banks. The game must be closed by Sunday in order not to blow up the only offer presented to resolve the latest crisis in order of time of the Italian banks.
