Afghanistan: US launch super bomb

(Updated Friday at 8,05) The United States dropped a bomb on eastern Afghanistan, in the Nangarhar area, near the border with Pakistan, with the aim of targeting ISIS.

This was announced by CNN citing US military sources. It would be a so-called MOAB bomb (the acronym means "Massive ordnance air blast", but it has been renamed mother of all bombs - mother of all bombs). The news was confirmed by White House spokesman Sean Spicer who, at the opening of the daily briefing, declared that in the action "all precautions were taken to avoid civilian casualties and collateral damage". The Afghan Defense Ministry then confirmed that the 'mother of all bombs' "caused the deaths of 36 ISIS militiamen". A brief statement adds that the bomb, weighing 9,800 kilos, "was launched into a network of tunnels" in the Achin district of Nangarhar province, and "completely destroyed" the target, "without causing civilian casualties ”.

It is the largest of the non-nuclear and weighs almost 10 tons and has the strength to destroy everything within a radius of hundreds of meters. It would be the first time she's been used in combat.

Here is a video from You Tube showing the effects of the MOAB.
