Russian military plane crashes in the Black Sea

A Russian military plane, a Tupolev Tu-154 bound for Syria, crashed into the Black Sea shortly after taking off from Sochi airport. There were 91 people on board, including members of the Alexandrov Ensemble, the Russian military choir which was to participate in the end-of-year celebrations of Russian soldiers stationed in the Middle Eastern country.

The remains of the aircraft, which had disappeared from radar, have been identified in the waters of the Black Sea.

Nothing has been ruled out on the causes and the Russians are putting forward hypotheses of an attack.
