As regards Fiumicino airport, in the first three months of 2017, traffic rose to over 8,2 million passengers, with an increase of 0,8 percent. The increase is mainly due to the non-EU market which, with approximately 2 million passengers, recorded a growth of 3,3%. But Central and South America (+23,1%) shows the most significant increase. The results from the Far East are also significant (+9%). Traffic volumes also increased on the European market (+2,1%) with over 3,6 million passengers. With reference to the domestic market, volumes amounted to approximately 2,6 million passengers, recording a reduction relating to the strikes in the airline sector on 23/02 and 20/03, which mainly had repercussions on the domestic market and the EU.

Speaking instead of Ciampino, the airport closes the first quarter with a growth in passengers (+4,7%) of over 1,4 million. The positive performance is driven by the International segment (+11,3%), in continuity with the previous months.
