Acri: Francesco Profumo president, Guzzetti era ends

Francesco Profumo is the new president of Acri and succeeds Giuseppe Guzzetti who was at the head of the association for 19 years and who will also leave the head of the Cariplo Foundation on 28 May. The passing of the baton was announced. However last December the same former Governor Lombardo had indicated Profumo as "a more than adequate person to be the president of Acri” which, we recall, is a shareholder of Intesa Sanpaolo and Unicredit and holds approximately 16% of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, of which it indicates the presidency.

The assembly of Foundations and Savings Banks unanimously elected the president of the Compagnia San Paolo and the new Board which will remain in office until 2021.

Profumo professor of Electrical Machines and Drives at the Turin Polytechnic, is president of the Compagnia di San Paolo since May 2016.

«I am very proud of the task entrusted to me and I thank Acri for their trust – declared Profumo -. A special thanks goes to the president Giuseppe Guzzetti who with his farsighted and wise guidance has directed the Association in this path of growth and consolidation over the last 20 years. I am convinced that the architrave on which this virtuous path of development has rested is extremely solid and of great vision and can therefore continue to support the path that awaits us”.

Profumo is already projected into the future and points to the t'sre “fundamental guidelines” towards which his presidency will be oriented and therefore the association: "I believe that our future efforts must be oriented towards three fundamental guidelines: the relationship with the institutions at the local and national level, the strengthening of the participation and sharing principles within our Association and the motion approved on the occasion of the XXIV National Congress, entitled "Identity and Change". In it some precise commitments have been outlined which represent an element of continuity and, at the same time, a responsibility for our future development which is entrusted to us. There are numerous programmatic elements that have emerged, but today I would like to recall the areas within which they are located: the relationship with the Third Sector, the relationship with the Supervisory Authority, joint initiatives, the relationship with the Banks associated".

Returning to the board, it "will identify in the next session, expected for the first half of the month of June, the members of the Executive Committee and the vice-presidents of the Association“, reads a note.
