Water: the new rates arrive from January XNUMXst

From 2019 January the new tariff method approved by the Authority for energy, gas and the water system will come into force and will be valid until XNUMX.

According to reports from the Authority, the new framework of rules will lead to the development of quality infrastructures and services and will guarantee the sustainability of the fees applied to users, favoring the improvement of the quality of services and the rationalization of management.

Tariff Method 2 can be traced back to a matrix of regulatory schemes where each competent subject will be able to identify the most effective solution based on their own situations.

The Authority highlights how there will be various factors to be taken into consideration to identify the best solution for one's situation: the need for investments in relation to the value of the existing infrastructures or the possible presence of variations in the objectives or activities of the manager or even the amount of operating costs per inhabitant served by each management compared to the average figure for the sector.

Furthermore, a virtual regulatory scheme is envisaged, in cases where the area government body, in the management aggregation stage, does not have an information kit for more than half of the population served by the new area manager.

Certain times for connection and transfer

In the new tariff method, the Authority wanted to dedicate a paragraph to contractual quality in which it defines the rules for the provision of services and minimum billing obligations. The Authority, in fact, has established maximum times for the activation of the contract: 10 days for a connection, 5 days to activate the supply or for a transfer. Standards are also envisaged for the management of complaints, replies to information and telephone services for users.

As far as the minimum billing obligations are concerned, we see that the Authority has foreseen a division into brackets of the period of issue of the bill based on the actual consumption of the user. Here's specifically:

– six-monthly bill for average annual consumption up to 100 cubic meters;

– quarterly bill for average consumption between 101 and 1000 cubic metres;

– quarterly bill for consumption between 1001 and 3000 cubic meters;

– bimonthly bill for consumption exceeding 3000 cubic meters.
