From 2018, users of the water sector in conditions of economic hardship will be able to take advantage of a discount on their bill through the Social Water Bonus. All households with an equivalent economic situation indicator (Isee) of less than 8.107,50 euros will be able to access the subsidy, a limit that rises to 20.000 euros if you have more than 3 fiscally dependent children, the conditions already envisaged for taking advantage of the bonus electric and gas.
The request must be presented to your municipality of residence (or to the Caf delegated by the municipality) together with the application for the electricity and/or gas bonus and, when accepted, will allow you to take advantage of a discount on the bill equal to the cost of 18,25 cubic meters per year (equivalent to 50 liters per day, i.e. the minimum quantity established by law for the satisfaction of personal needs) for each member of the household. The discount will be paid directly in the bill for those with a direct contract, while the indirect user, i.e. the family that lives in a condominium and does not have its own water supply contract, will receive the Social Bonus in a single payment from the manager of the water service in the manner identified by the latter (for example on a current account or with a non-transferable bank draft). Holders of Carta Acquisti or Carta ReI will automatically be able to take advantage of the water bonus, similarly to the provisions for the electricity and gas bonus by Legislative Decree 147/2017 which introduced the Inclusion Income.
The facilitation was introduced by the Authority with resolution 897/2017/R/idr, following the provision of the dPCM of 13 October 2016. The request for the Bonus for 2018 only can be presented (together with that for the electricity bonus and /o gas) only from 1 July, since it is still necessary to verify some implementation aspects and make the IT systems of the municipalities and operators operational, but it will still allow the applicant to be recognized a one-off amount starting from 1 January. The forms to be used will be made available on the Authority's website www.autorita.energia.it) and also published on the site of the operator, of the governing body of the territorially competent area and on the dedicated site of the Anci (www.sgate .anci.it).
The government bodies of the area competent for the area will then have the right to introduce (or confirm, if already envisaged) a supplementary water bonus on a local basis, as a further protection measure with respect to the minimum envisaged for users in vulnerable conditions economic from sector regulation, recognizing the user an additional amount or expanding the Isee threshold envisaged for admission to the Bonus.
