Acea: Suez Environnement acquires 3% and rises to 9% of the capital

Suez Environnement acquires 3,9% of Acea held by Gdf, thus rising to 12,5% of the capital of the Roman utility. The purchase involves 8 million shares, at market prices. Relations between the two companies, which are already in a joint venture in Tuscany, thus become closer, as evidenced by the note from the French group: “We want to insist on our strategy to build the third European pillar in the water market after France and Spain”.

The news gave impetus to the Acea share, which in the very early afternoon gained more than 1% in Piazza Affari, in contrast with the trend of the Italian stock market. Another factor also contributes to pushing up the shares of the Roman utility: just today, in fact, Acea received the increase in Moody's outlook from negative to stable.
