Acea aims to reduce the digital divide with Waidy Point

ACEA launches “Waidy Point”. A counter dedicated to water service customers which performs the same functions in a digital version as the traditional physical counter, in order to reduce the "digital divide" and comply with the rules for the containment of the Coronavirus infection.

In the last year, marked by the pandemic, the Roman company has always guaranteed support to customers through digital channels which have provided a valid alternative to the service of physical branches, but to reduce the "digital divide” and also offer support to people less accustomed to using new technologies, decided to develop Waidy Point.

It is a mobile structure in the shape of a cubic cabin of about 2,50 meters by 2,50, equipped with a sanitation air (according to anti-Covid-19 regulations), monitor, internet network and printer, from which the customer, assisted by an employee present on site, can contact the operator of Acea Ato 2 and carry out all the operations related to the management of its water supply: from transfers to connection requests and much more.

The first of these technological workstations was inaugurated on Monday 17 May 2021, at the headquarters of the Roman multiutility in Piazzale Ostiense, in the presence of the Mayor of Rome Virginia Rages and the Chief Executive Officer of the Group Joseph Gola.

Four other "Waidy Points" will be installed in the short term in the municipalities of funfair e Frascati and subsequently in the other Municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Rome. Appointments at the closest Waidy point can be booked via the Acea Ato 2 commercial toll-free number, i.e.: 800 130 331.

This new innovative solution allows assisted access to digital services and thus creates a new point of contact between customers and the company, designed above all for those Municipalities of the Metropolitan City of Rome where the physical counter has been closed following the restrictions related to the sanitary emergency.
