Acea illuminates the Torretta Valadier of Ponte Milvio in Rome

New artistic lighting of the Valadier turret of Ponte Milvio of the Acea Group. It is not the first intervention for the Roman multi-utility, Piazza del Campidoglio, the Castle of Santa Severa, the Tempio Maggiore of Rome, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Colosseum, Santa Maria in Trastevere and the Pantheon have also been colored.

In particular, the neoclassical style turret, which dates back to the early 800s and dominates one of the most famous bridges in the capital, was illuminated by 16 new Led projectors positioned in specially chosen points to enhance the contours and shape of the product. A warm light was used for the monument, with a high chromatic rendering, designed precisely to integrate into the atmosphere of the historic Roman bridge and the adjacent square. Instead, for the accent lighting of the tricolor waving on the tower, a neutral light was chosen that enhances the bright colors of the Italian flag.

Enlightenment has occurred on the evening of June 14, 2021 in the presence of the Mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, the Operations Director of the Acea Group, Giovanni Papaleo, and the President of the XV Municipality, Stefano Simonelli.

“Let's give light back to the Valadier Tower. We do this by continuing the redevelopment program of the artistic lighting systems of the historical and architectural heritage of the capital and its monuments that everyone loves in the world - he declared Virginia Rages, mayor of Rome -. It is a program conducted in collaboration with Acea in the name of sustainability, using energy-saving projectors and LED lamps. With the new lighting of the Valadier Tower, we are giving back to citizens, the city and tourists a monument that is a symbol of the area. It is an evocative place of great historical value, to which a profound redevelopment work has been dedicated, in collaboration with the Superintendences, with the XV Municipality, with Acea, with the citizens. Throughout the summer, free guided tours will allow you to enjoy this architectural jewel on the Tiber”.

“The intervention on the Torretta Valadier at Ponte Milvio – he said John Papaleo, Chief Operating Officer of the ACEA Group – was created from a technical point of view with innovative and sustainable criteria that have been able to combine the needs of energy saving with those of urban decorum, in a place, among other things, much loved and very popular by young people. The project is then part of a broader process of enhancing the capital's artistic heritage in which technical and artistic lighting also plays a very important role in the redevelopment of urban spaces".
