The Board of That approved i financial results for the first half of 2024. The data reflects an overall positive performance, despite the negative impact of falling energy prices. In the first half of 2024, the Roman multi-utility recorded consolidated revenues equal to 1.991,2 million euros, down compared to 2.296,2 million euros in the same period of 2023. The decrease is mainly attributable to the decrease in energy prices. The business areas relating to Water Italy, Networks and Public Lighting, and Environment represented approximately 60% of total revenues and showed growth of 2% in the period considered.
THENet income was 172 million euros (+21%) with therecurring net income of the Group grew by 18%, rising to approximately 168 million euros compared to the first half of 2023. The growth was supported by the solidity of the activities in the regulated businesses and by improved financial management, which offset the increase in amortization related to investments. L'EBITDA consolidated reached 729,1 million euros, +8,8% compared to 670,4 million euros in the first half of 2023.
La Net financial position of the Group recorded an increase of 282,9 million euros, going from 4.846,8 million euros at 31 December 2023 to 5.129,6 million euros at 30 June 2024. This increase was mainly affected from the distribution of dividends, the payment of taxes and financial charges.
Investments are growing
In the first half of 2024, Acea has made investments equal to 567,5 million euros, up 3,6% compared to 547,7 million euros in the same period of the previous year. Investments net of contributions stood at 477,5 million euros, compared to 503,0 million in the first half of 2023.
Investments are divided as follows based on the different business areas:
- Acqua Italia: 343,1 million euros (253,0 million net of contributions)
- Networks and Public Lighting: 149,2 million euros
- Environment: 21,7 million euros
- Production: 11,6 million euros
- Commercial: 32,3 million euros
- Other business and Corporate: 9,6 million euros
Approximately 90% of investments, net of public contributions, were allocated to the regulated businesses of Acqua Italia and Reti, as well as to public lighting and environmental activities.
Guidance 2024 confirmed
Acea has guidance for 2024 confirmed, forecasting an increase in EBITDA of 3%-5% compared to 2023 and total investments of 1,5 billion euros, of which 1,1 billion are net of contributions.
