In October, registrations of new commercial vehicles grew by 8,3% in Europe (EU plus EFTA), reaching 169.039 units. However, Italy goes against the trend, with registrations down by 2,8% (15.455 units); France and Germany grew by 7,8% and 7,2% respectively, while double-digit growth was recorded in the United Kingdom (+11,1%). This is what emerges from the data published by Acea, the association of European vehicle manufacturers.
In the first months of the year, registrations increased by 11% (to 1.660.580 units), while in Italy they fell by 0,2%; Germany and the UK had increases of 19,5% and 17,8%, with Spain down 4,9%.
As regards the various segments, the greatest increases concerned buses and coaches (+25%); positive results also characterized light commercial vehicles (+6,4%), lorries over 16 tonnes (+18,3%) and trucks over 3,5 tonnes (+15,9%).
