Tim-Mediaset agreement: Alfa programs on TimVision

Telecom Italy e Mediaset have reached an agreement that from 2019 January XNUMX will allow customers TimVision to see all Mediaset free-to-air channels and access the last 7 days of programming made available online by the Biscione. In addition to Canale 5, Italia 1 and Retequattro, the package includes the free thematic channels La5, TGCom24, Mediaset Extra, 20, Iris, Italia2 and Top Crime, to which will be added the new Focus channel, which will debut on TV in mid-May. In exchange, Mediaset will collect over 40 million euros in three years. This operation was strongly desired by Vivendi from the moment the French group took control of Tim.

"This enriches Timvision's offer - reads a note from Tim - already appreciated by over 1,5 million customers, which complements the extensive catalog of films and TV series deriving from agreements with the most important majors and to its own productions and co-productions, as well as the contents and information offered by other major Italian and international players”.

A few weeks ago Tim had already reached a strategic agreement with Vision Distribution to offer Timvision subscribers the best Italian cinema titles.

"The new agreement with Mediaset - adds the note from Telecom - marks a further step forward in the content strategy envisaged by the DigiTIM Business Plan, which aims to give maximum value to its customers by offering the best television experience with the best connectivity offer".

Daniela Biscarini, head of multimedia entertainment at Telecom, explains that "the agreement with Mediaset confirms the will to strengthen Timvision's offer, continuing with determination in the path of alliances with the best players on the market".

In a day of suffering for Piazza Affari, the Telecom share lost 3,34%, to 0,8006 euro, while that of Mediaset lost 1,43%, to 3,243 euro.
