Acciai Speciali Terni, Outokumpu: purchase offers unacceptable

'The offers we have received so far are not acceptable: we are working with the EU Commission for a solution that respects both the interests of Outokumpu' and the requests of the Brussels Antitrust. This was stated during an event in London, according to a press release from Outokumpu, by Mika Seitovirta, CEO of the Finnish multinational, engaged in the sale of Acciai Speciali Terni, as ordered by the European Commission.

In the press release, Outokumpu recalls that the deadline for finalizing the sale of the Umbrian site, initially scheduled for the beginning of May, has been extended and specifies that it has agreed with Brussels 'and the parties involved in the process not to disclose any details of the route'. However, Outokumpu plans to provide an update when it presents its second quarter data. For the Terni plant, a consortium led by Luxembourg's Aperam with Marcegaglia and Arvedi, and the US investment fund Apollo had presented offers.
