Marcello Dell'Utri, Cesare Previti, Arnaldo Forlani and Totò Cuffaro will, together with others, have to say goodbye to the parliamentary annuity. Instead, Gianni De Michelis, Paolo Cirino Pomicino, Giorgio La Malfa and Domenico Nania will keep it.
This is the result of the compromise with which the leaders of the Chamber and Senate yesterday decided to abolish the annuities for MPs convicted of serious crimes exceeding 2 years (mafia, terrorism, crimes against the PA), while the annuities will remain for less serious crimes such as abuse of office.
In favor of the provision that comes after months of controversy, Pd, Lega, Sel, Civic Choice and the Brothers of Italy voted.
Forza Italia and the Popular area, who wanted a law and not simply a regulatory act which would however have lengthened the times, were absent at the time of the vote by the presidential offices of the two Chambers. The 5 Star Movement did the same.
