Abi, the banks "Invite to the Palace"

On Saturday 7 October the XVI edition of the national day of opening to the public of the historic and modern bank headquarters. From 10.00 to 19.00 free admission and guided tours in 102 buildings of banks, foundations of banking origin and also of the Bank of Italy in 52 cities throughout the national territory.

Until 19pm on Saturday 7 October, doors will be open in 102 bank buildings, foundations of banking origin and the Bank of Italy in 52 cities throughout the country. Today the XNUMXth edition of Invito a Palazzo takes place, the event promoted by the ABI which every year puts buildings on display for citizens, enthusiasts and tourists, works of art and masterpieces preserved in the historic and modern banks.

Great turnout of citizens, enthusiasts and tourists in the buildings which, throughout the day, remain accessible with free guided tours. Numerous events are added to the opening of the individual palaces: exhibitions, concerts and debates which welcomed over 50.000 visitors in the last edition of last year.

The President of ABI, Antonio Patuelli declares: "Since its inception, the event has established itself as the most successful form of communication adopted by the banking sector to share with all citizens a wealth of testimonies of art and life civil law in a thousand years of Italian history, as well as evidence of the banks' commitment to the protection and enhancement of the artistic heritage. This year, for the first time, many banks and foundations have organized guided tours illustrated by young high school students. "Guide for a day", this is the name of the shared initiative, is a cultural project that aims to spread art among school children."

102 palaces will participate in the sixteenth edition of Invito a Palazzo, including the headquarters of the Bank of Italy in Rome (Palazzo Koch), in 52 cities throughout the country. 9 venues "on display" for the first time, which represent an absolute novelty for visitors. 2 cities that open the doors of their palaces for the first time: Cuneo and Rovereto. The social and cultural importance of the event is also demonstrated by the Main Media Partnership of RAI and the Media Partnership of TGR.

The initiative is part of the interventions promoted by the banking world to enhance the national artistic heritage and to support culture as a development engine for the country.
