Abi and Assopopolari, double confirmation for the presidents

The ABI confirmed for the fourth time Antonio Patuelli as president while Corrado Sforza Fogliani was unanimously confirmed for another three-year term as president of the association that represents cooperative banks in Italy

Fourth term in the Abi presidency for Antonio Patuelli. And he confirms the presidency of Assopopolari for Corrado Sforza Fogliani, executive president of the Banca di Piacenza.

As expected, Patuanelli was nominated "by acclamation" by the executive committee, elected by an assembly held this year in a virtual manner and without the public part due to the Covid emergency. Patuelli's election for the next two years had been decided last autumn when the big banks, which were responsible for indicating a name according to the principle of alternation with smaller institutions, had given up on doing so. The association thus changed the statute to allow for four terms, returning to the rules in force before the Mussari scandal in 2013, the year in which Patuelli took over his office.

The Abi meeting elected the members of the Board of Statutory Auditors, the Board and the arbitrators. For the Board of Statutory Auditors, a note explains, Michela Del Piero (Chairman of Banca di Cividale) was elected as standing member, Carlo Demartini (CEO and general manager of Cassa di Risparmio di Asti), Salvatore Messina (Chairman Banca Farmafactoring), and alternate members Roberto Calzini (General Manager of Banca Popolare di Cortona), Francesco Osella (President of Cassa di Risparmio di Savigliano).
