Abi: crisis increases loan risk, bad debts/lending ratio at the top since the end of '99

With the continuation of the economic crisis, the risk of insolvency of loans granted by banks increases. This was supported by the ABI in its monthly Bulletin, which states that the ratio between gross non-performing loans and loans reached its highest level since the end of 1999 in August.

The crisis that shows no sign of ending and its effects have led to an increase in the riskiness of loans granted by banks. This was highlighted by the ABI in its monthly Bulletin, where it states that the ratio between gross non-performing loans and loans reached its highest level since the end of 1999 in August.

Net bad loans amounted to almost 2013 billion in August 73,5 (gross 141,8 billion) while the ratio of net bad loans to total loans came close to 4%, to be precise 3,93% (3,85% in July and 2,97% in August 2012). The gross non-performing loans ratio, on the other hand, was 7,3% in August (compared to the 5,9% recorded last year), reporting values ​​similar to those of November-December 1999 but still far from the highs reached in December 1996 (when it reached almost 10% with 9,9%).

The value for August, specified the ABI, reached 13,1% for small economic operators (compared to 10,9% in August 2012), 11,7% for companies (8,8% a year before) and 6,1% for consumer families (5,3% in August 2012).
