Abertis gains strength in the Serenissima

The Spanish group, for which a possible aggregation with Atlantia is looming, has risen to 85% in the Veneto motorway

(Teleborsa) – The Spanish group Abertis, already on the verge of aggregation with Atlantia, makes no secret of wanting to grow the Italian motorway sector and announces the purchase of another stake in the Serenissima motorway, exceeding 85%.

The Iberian group took over another 22,52% of A4 Holding, which manages the Brescia-Padua motorway, after acquiring the stake held by Astaldi last year. The additional share, which brings the total stake to 85,36%, cost 125 million euros, most of which will be paid at the end of July and the balance of 36 million by the end of January 2018.

The consideration paid by the Spaniards offers a 10% discount on the value paid to acquire the previous 51,4% stake in the capital.
