A2A, Tarantini: Delmi in Edipower since January

"The merger process between Delmi and Edipower is underway: the new Edipower will formally start on January 2013, XNUMX“. This was revealed by the Chairman of the Management Board of A2A, Graziano Tarantini, on the sidelines of the naming ceremony of the Premadio plant, in Valtellina, after the former president of the group Giuliano Zuccoli, who passed away on 11 February. Delmi collects the former Italian shareholders of Edison. In Edipower the first two partners are A2A itself and Iren. "There are some formal steps to be taken", added Tarantini, specifying that it will also be necessary to discuss the possible entry of a new shareholder.

As for the new business plan, the timing of the presentation will be clarified on August XNUMX, with the publication of the half-yearly accounts. “We are developing ideas for reduce debt – Tarantini said again -, we will amaze you. We will make choices, the debt will go down”.

A2A's debt is close to 5 billion euros and is one of the causes of the weakening of the share on the Stock Exchange, which also this morning in Piazza Affari lost more than one point by mid-morning. The new plan could be presented between September and October.

Meanwhile, A2A is evaluating the sale to Brescia of the optical fiber asset of the subsidiary of the Selene networks to Metroweb. The sale could bring in proceeds of around 60 million. “As a company we are convinced – assured Tarantini -. The shareholder who will make the investment awaits the go-ahead from the Municipality of Brescia”.
