A2A and Iren, the markets like the idea of a "SuperEdipower"

The idea launched by an article in Corriere della Sera, regarding the creation of a "SuperEdipower", is pleasing the markets: Iren rises by 2,47% to 0,809 euro, and A2A 0,78% to 0,777 euro.

According to the newspaper the two companies are allegedly studying a plan aimed at creating an electricity generation pole around Edipower. For Intermonte's analysts, an operation of this type would be “very positive for municipal companies, guaranteeing more efficient management of production assets, thanks to the greater critical mass and better production mix. This would allow - Intermonte continues - a reduction in the debt of A2A and Iren, and would leave the two companies directly focused on network and waste activities, which could lead to a re-rating of the securities due to the lower risk profile of the directly managed activities.

Certainly, the analysts conclude, "the road to the creation of a SuperEdipower will be long and complex, but we believe it could represent the final solution to overcome the current delicate financial situation in which both A2A and Iren find themselves".
