The 136th Assembly of Unioncamere in Venice: green light for the redesign of the Chambers of Commerce

It was held today in Venice, from 9.30 to 13.00, at the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, the 136th Assembly of Unioncamere, during which the presidents of the chambers of commerce discussed with each other and with the representatives of the business associations on the programs and strategies for the next three years and the reorganization of the system.

The objective of the meeting was to make the Chambers of Commerce even more efficient and capable of responding to the needs of the entrepreneurial fabric, while at the same time implementing economies of scale capable of freeing up additional resources to be allocated to the development of the economy.

The meeting, opened by greetings from local institutional representatives, was attended by Cesare Fumagalli, general secretary of Confartigianato; Mario Guidi, president of Confagricoltura Ivanhoe Lo Bello, vice president of Confindustria; Gennarino Masiello, vice president of Coldiretti; Giuliano Poletti, president of Legacoop and co-president of Cooperative Alliance Carlo Sangalli, president of Confcommercio; Sergio Silvestrini, general secretary of the CNA; Marco Venturi, president of Confesercenti and the president of Unioncamere, Ferruccio Dardanello.

At the end of the meeting, the Assembly gave the go-ahead for the project to redesign the territorial organization of the Chambers of commerce and to redefine and unify functions. The reform hypothesis is guided by some key concepts: rationalization to make the chamber system even more efficient; cost containment through economies of scale; better use of human resources; remodeling of budgets to free up additional resources to be made available for business support actions.

The greatest benefit for businesses would derive from the optimization of system costs assumed in the project, costs that are currently fully borne by businesses through the annual fee.
