In Lyon, the exhibition on Italian knowledge

Until 13 December the adventure of a country with solid roots in the Renaissance. A cultural redemption after the self-harm of a certain political class.

In Lyon, the exhibition on Italian knowledge

It is entitled "Italy: the beauty of knowledge" and opens today, November 12, at the Carnot Campus of the Catholic University of Lyon (UCLY). There is expectation in the beautiful French city to see up close what Italians have been able to do throughout history. An event, which is very similar to a re-accreditation of culture and our knowledge at a European level. That it makes us forget, hopefully quickly, the damage caused by the political self-harm of those who have led the country for over a year. Because if you say that Europe suffocates you and that for this reason Italy is no longer sovereign, you have to take into account that even your talent and excellence can be underestimated. A risk that many have borne. France is a friendly country and the exhibition, which will remain open until 13 November, brings together "one of the greatest expressions of human thought". Of course, scientific research hasn't been doing very well for a few years, due to scarce investments, low reputation in strategic choices, less institutional sensitivity. In spite of all this, great things are still achieved. And credit must now be given to the Italian Cultural Institute which, from Lyon, intends to promote the meeting between countries and social progress. We move forward with culture.

In a vast geographical area, torn apart by wars, captains of fortune, territorial claims, greedy rulers, Italy experienced the Renaissance. Period that would forever mark his identity, up to the studies and research of the '900 for the conquest of space. The adventure of knowledge, lived in a country that only took centuries to unify. An adventure that has overcome wars, defied bans, absurd laws, hypocrisy, thefts, abuses, but has had the strength to win over people from all walks of life. For many years we have been able to keep together knowledge, art, natural beauty, sometimes without realizing it. A daily life violated, fortunately, by solemn occasions in which we all later appreciated the extraordinary national skills in every field. It happened to us more recently with Expo2015. A global success, which has (re) opened our eyes, to put things back in their place. To resume studying, go back to beautifying cities, create, not let talents escape, e rejoice when our brains conquer CERN in Geneva, go into space, are nominated senators for life, win Nobel prizes and film Oscars . Strong values are on display in Lyon, connected to the history of a people heterogeneous in origins, but always capable of recovering.
