ATB Azienda Trasporti Bergamo has entered into an agreement with UBI Banca and SIA to allow payment of public transport season tickets with smartphones, thanks to the Jiffy service which associates the mobile phone number with the user's personal card (b-card). An absolute novelty in Italy.

From today, the ATB subscription can be paid using a smartphone thanks to the Jiffy service, made available by UBI Banca and SIA, which allows you to transfer money in real time between individuals and to pay by mobile phone, alongside cash and other payment instruments more traditional digital ones, such as credit cards.

Using Jiffy, ATB customers can purchase or renew their subscription in a few simple steps, by debiting their current account or card with IBAN. Thanks to the use of the smartphone, the purchase and the renewal become simple and immediate. The transaction, in addition to being fast, takes place in a secure environment, without any information leaving the bank's systems.

To purchase or renew an ATB subscription with Jiffy, you need to register on the site atb.bergamo.it -to which reference is made for all the detailed operational information-, associate your mobile phone number combined with the Jiffy service with your personal card (b-card) or with that of family members, enabling the notification with the payment request to be sent to the same mobile phone . By confirming the request, the customer receives the ticket by e-mail.

With this initiative, ATB Azienda Trasporti Bergamo confirms its commitment to offering its customers innovative solutions aimed at simplifying their experience, both before and during the journey.

The possibility of renewing the season ticket of ATB with the smartphone, the first transport company in Italy to offer this service, is one of the many signs that testify to the growth of payments with alternative instruments to cash: the "new digital payments", in the two-year period 2016-2017, grew by around 50% (reaching 46 BILLION € for 2017) and digital transactions via smartphone increased by 60% (reaching 2017 BILLION at the end of 6,7 total €).
