Il European Parliament voted yesterday by a large majority for a resolution calling on “EU Member States to immediately lift restrictions on the use of Western weapons against legitimate military targets on Russian territory”. This paragraph of the resolution had 377 votes in favour, 191 against and 51 abstentions. “Insufficient supplies – the resolution continues – risk nullifying the efforts made so far”.
The message from the European Parliament is very clear and decisive. pro-Ukraine but incredibly theItaly, which has always verbally supported Kiev, is not having it. The majority of Italian delegations in Parliament voted against the passage of the resolution calling for the lifting of restrictions on the use of Western weapons in Russia. FdI, Lega, M5S and Avs were in opposition. Forza Italia was divided with two deputies voting in favor. The PD was split with 8 votes against, 2 in favor and 2 abstentions.
On the final text of the resolution, FdI, FI and Pd (with the exception of two votes) voted in favour, while Lega, M5S, Sinistra Italiana and Verdi voted against.
