Terna renews its company fleet with over 1000 cars, 220 of which are electric

Le company fleets become more and more electrical: Terna is also renewing its fleet with over 1000 vehicles, 220 of which are electric. The company that manages the national transmission grid was awarded the European tender for operating means of 50 million euros which it had called last September with the aim of renewing the company fleet from a sustainable point of view. According to a notice published in the EU Gazette, the contract was awarded to Arval Service Lease Italy and provides for the long-term rental of around 1.040 vehicles, 850 of which are endothermic and/or hybrid.

The company led by Stefano Donnarumma will thus replace the traditional internal combustion engine cars. The new means will have to fully integrate with the technical instruments of the corporate car sharing which provides, among other things, the possibility of booking vehicles with an app, monitoring the use of company assets and guaranteeing assistance 24 hours a day, 24 days a week, to operatives on duty.

The increase in investments, developed by Terna to push on energy transition and give impetus to the country's economic recovery, has led to an increase in construction sites and, consequently, the need to meet new operational requirements. All the company offices in Italy were involved in order to assign to the individual teams operating in the context of electricity lines and stations, the technical profile of the most suitable vehicle to guarantee an efficient and less polluting network. Paying particular attention also to the characteristics of the territories of competence, so as to ensure a better correspondence between the technical profiles of the vehicles and the needs of the service.
