Saipem recovers on the Stock Exchange after the agreement with Trevi on wind power but then suffers the bad weather of the Ftse Mib

Saipem it started off in clear recovery this morning with a peak of +4,1% at 41,60 euros and leads the main segment with an increase of 1,8% at the end of the morning, after the crash the day before. Saipem on Monday lost 14,8%. At the end of the morning, Piazza Affari, after a brilliant debut, traced and is currently traveling around -1% at an altitude of 21.700 points.

The rebound is to be related to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Trevi to collaborate in the joint development of a design of two large diameter bore hole drilling systems for offshore wind farms.

“The efficient drilling of large diameter holes – which serve to accommodate foundation piles – represents an essential technical phase to ensure the correct installation of offshore wind farms,” said a Saipem statement.

Trevi and Saipem will develop a project capable of analyzing the specific geotechnical and geophysical data of the site to be drilled to identify the most appropriate drilling strategy and technology.

The agreement with Trevi strengthens Saipem in the offshore wind sector

The agreement with Trevi also provides for the possibility of jointly developing the drilling equipment which should then be managed by Saipem in the execution of wind farm projects, relying on Trevi's experience in the foundation sector.

“This MoU, which follows the non-binding agreement with Havfram to evaluate potential cooperation in the offshore wind business, is consistent with the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan of Saipem” says the note, “since it aims to strengthen Saipem's value proposition for offshore wind, a market of considerable size, expected to grow by more than 30% over the horizon of the Strategic Plan”.
