we receive e we publish the following press release issued by Poste Italiane.
Poste Italiane supports the National Food Collection Day, scheduled for Saturday 16 November, making available throughout the national territory approximately 200 company vehicles for the transport of food collected in participating supermarkets. With this initiative, Poste Italiane confirms its strong social commitment, in line with the values of inclusion and closeness to the territories and communities that have always inspired its action.
Now in its 28th edition, the National Food Drive Day, organised by Banco Alimentare Onlus, has become an important moment of sharing and sensitization to the problem of poverty by inviting people to do the shopping for people in difficulty.
In more than 11.600 supermarkets throughout Italy, over 150.000 Food Bank volunteers, recognizable by their orange bib, will invite you to buy long-life products such as oil, canned vegetables or legumes, canned tomatoes, canned tuna or meat and baby food.
All donated food will then be distributed to over 7.600 territorial partner organizations affiliated with Banco Alimentare (soup kitchens, family homes, communities for minors, listening centers, street units) that support approximately 1.790.000 people.
