It is available from today passport application service negli post offices in Bologna, Cagliari and Verona. The service is aimed at residents and domiciled in the three cities, who will be able to present the documentation directly at the post office counter without having to go to the police station. You can also apply for a passport for minors and the service is active in 32 post offices from Bologna, 32 from Verona and 17 from Cagliari.
The passport service is coming extended to cities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants thanks to the agreement signed between Poste Italiane and the Ministry of the Interior, in light of the success of the initiative launched as part of the Polis project of Poste Italiane which, since last March, has allowed citizens of municipalities with a population of up to 15 thousand inhabitants to apply for a passport to be issued directly at post offices and to access, through digital technology, Public Administration services. In September the service will be progressively extended to Rome, Milan, Naples and all Italian cities.
“Poste Italiane once again interprets and captures the needs of Italians, making an investment to create services that significantly improve the lives of citizens without weighing on public finances in the slightest - explains the CEO of Poste Italiane, Matthew Del Fante. “I therefore express my satisfaction at the launch of the passport service also in large cities which represents a fine example of collaboration between businesses and institutions and makes the relationship between Italians and the public administration easier and simpler”.
“I am particularly satisfied with thelaunch of this initiative also in large cities, a unique project that has no equal in other countries – commented the Director General of Poste Italiane Joseph Lasco. “After the success achieved in the smaller centers included in the Polis project, we have once again kept our word, keeping the promise made to citizens to enable our post offices for the new service by the beginning of August. From today onwards, thanks to the great work of agreement with the Presidency of the Council, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requesting and obtaining travel documents in Italy will always be simpler and more comfortable".
To present the request for issuance of passport will be need to book access to the service in the specific section of the Poste Italiane website at the address https://www.poste.it/prodotti/passaporto elettronico.html. Subsequently, all you need to do is give the chosen post office operator a valid identity document, your tax code, two photographs (which will be legalized directly at the counter), one 73,50 euro revenue stamp and pay the payment slip for the ordinary passport at the office sum of 42,50 euros. In case of renewal it will also be necessary to hand over the old passport, if available, or in the case of loss or theft of the document, the relevant report. Thanks to the technological platform supplied to the post offices, the same operator will collect the citizen's personal information and biometric data (fingerprints and photos) and then send the documentation to the relevant police office.
