The closing ceremony will start at 20:00, immediately after the conclusion of the last Olympic competitions. The event will be held at the Stade de France, located in Seine-Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris, one of the most iconic stadiums in the city. This location, which has already hosted numerous sporting and cultural events of global importance, will be transformed for the occasion into one gigantic concert hall, capable of welcoming hundreds of artists, acrobats, dancers and musicians. The ceremony should last at least a couple of hours.
What will be seen
As with the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony will also be directed by Thomas Jolly, renowned French theater director, and will have as “Records” theme, in a symbolic tribute to the results achieved by the athletes during the Games. According to some sources, the event will be characterized by a futuristic atmosphere, in which a world will be represented where the Olympic Games are now a memory, symbolizing thecontinuous evolution of sport and society. The highlight of the evening will be traditional passing of the Olympic flag in Los Angeles, host city of the 2028 Olympics, in a sign of continuity and unity between nations. The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, will deliver the flag to the mayor of Los Angeles, karen bass, in a sequence that promises to be memorable.
Who will perform
Despite most of the artistic details remain shrouded in mystery, some previews talk about the participation of world-famous artists. THE Phoenix, famous French rock band, and the electronic duo AIR they could perform during the ceremony. Both groups, originating from Versailles, are internationally known and have recently collaborated in a concert in Paris, thus increasing speculation about their presence at the event.
However, the participation of the Hollywood superstar seems confirmed by Tom Cruisewhich should perform a spectacular stunt, probably linked to the passing of the Olympic flag. Some sources suggest that the actor will descend from the top of the Stade de France in a breathtaking, pre-recorded sequence, which will see him travel symbolically from Paris to Los Angeles, up to the famous Hollywood sign.
