Cantine Aperte 2025, the stage for the latest in Italian wine tourism, with snacks in the vineyard, trekking, themed tastings, and mini lessons on wine and food

FIRST online

The historic Cantine Aperte event presents itself as a completely renewed edition appointment in the cellars of the Wine Tourism Movement set this year for May 24th and 25th.

For the first time, the event will enrich the traditional welcome in the cellars by allowing tourists to live new experiences: snacks in the vineyard, trekking, themed tastings, mini lessons on wine and typical food, itinerant tastings.

“With Cantine Aperte, this year, the member companies of the Movimento Turismo del Vino want to present their new tourist experiences to visitors – says Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini, president of MTV – this This edition will therefore be a great national showcase of what the wineries offer to visitors to experience wine in a more conscious, sustainable, fun and exciting way.you. An unrepeatable opportunity for wine tourists who will be able to be inspired and involved by the new wine experiences of the year 2025. We at the Movement are looking to the wine tourism of the future and will continue to evolve our proposals to make MTV experiences more diversified, in line with an increasingly varied and international audience. We also want to surprise tourists who have already visited many other wineries around the world”.

According to the data that emerged from the survey on regional differences in Italian wine tourism, presented at Vinitaly 2025 by CESEO (Centro Studi Enoturismo e Oleoturismo dell'Università LUMSA), the producers of the Movimento Turismo del Vino stand out for their wide and quality proposal. Educational workshops dedicated to adults and children, photographic exhibitions, multisensory itineraries with cellars transformed into real galleries, yoga, pilates in the vineyard and ciclowine: these are just some of the many activities that take into account not only the needs of wine lovers, but also families, athletes, nature lovers and anyone who wants to approach the world of wine for the first time.

Precisely from this direction the recent collaboration with Agricamper Italia was born, an initiative designed to promote the discovery of MTV wineries and their territories, often distant from the major tourist circuits, to a constantly growing segment in the Italian tourism panorama: that of campers. Through the Agricamper app it is possible to identify the companies present in the area and book a free 24-hour stopover, so as to live an authentic experience among the vineyards, following a sustainable, respectful and immersive tourism model in the local culture.

Different proposals in different territories: a differentiation that concretely represents the picture drawn by the CESEO survey according to which the wineries of the Center are the most attentive in enhancing the landscape (a full 54% of the sample) and this is confirmed by the picnics in the vineyard and the e-bike tours, some of the activities proposed by the producers of Tuscany. A particular attention to outdoor activities is also found going up the Peninsula towards Emilia Romagna where tree watching, vineyard trekking and guided visits with the beekeepers of the area are organized. The landscape is also the protagonist further north with the multisensory tours to discover the oldest vineyards and the most suggestive views organized by the producers of Trentino Alto Adige. A trend not highlighted in the research (according to the data only 25% of the wineries of the North dedicate themselves to this type of proposal) but which underlines the predisposition of the wineries of the North, as well as those of central Italy, in organizing activities that put the territory at the center.

There are also numerous training activities related to wine, mainly concentrated in Central Italy (42% of the wineries) and the North East (41%), such as painting courses in the vineyards and cork processing workshops, organized in Sardinia to teach children how to creatively reuse wine corks. And also numerous exhibitions set up in the wineries of Tuscany, a region that together with Umbria reflects 85% of the premium offer of Central Italy while in the South Abruzzo organizes a good 40% of the premium experiences. According to the survey, MTV producers in the South and on the islands regularly organize entertainment events in their companies (a good 36% organize more than 4 different events), in particular Sicily and Campania stand out.

Numbers that concretely reflect the offer of the cellars given that, in this edition of Cantine Aperte, there will be a lot of space for live music with rock and jazz concerts to accompany the visit to the cellar combining the knowledge of wine with moments of leisure. There will also be no lack of attention to'combination with the organization of lunches, snacks and spring aperitifs based on typical products from each territory, an attention present in 87% of the wineries, mainly concentrated in the South with a presence four times higher than that declared by the wineries of the North-East.

This edition brings with it a new approach to the wine tourism experience, fresher and more innovative, which involves producers from each region who are increasingly committed to promoting moderate wine consumption without giving up the pleasure of tasting. In fact, The Wine Tourism Movement continues to carry forward, in collaboration with Wine in Moderation, a concrete commitment to promoting careful consumption and a healthy lifestyle. In this direction, the recent partnership of the Movimento Turismo del Vino with Somelì and the technology of Coravin Vinitas is added. A project that allows visitors to taste the best wines of each company in practical 100 ml vials, guaranteeing a perfect glass, in quality, in aromas and in the right quantity.
