Il Ministry of Culture (MIC) announces the opening of a international public tender for the selection of new directors in museums of national importance. These are five museums and archaeological parks of general management level:

1. Royal Museums of Turin; 2. Accademia Gallery of Florence and Bargello Museums; 3. Colosseum Archaeological Park; 4. National Roman Museum; 5. National Archaeological Museum of Naples.

The selection of new directors will be based on criteria of professionalism, international experience and ability to promote culture in an inclusive and sustainable way. Our museums will be able to involve an increasingly wider and more diverse audience, respecting tradition but with an ever-vigilant and open eye to the future.

The applications, in fact, will be examined by an evaluation commission, composed of five highly qualified experts appointed by the Minister of Culture, chosen from magistrates, full university professors in legal subjects, university professors in subjects related to the cultural heritage sector, well-known experts in the cultural heritage sector, general managers or equivalent of the Ministry of Culture or other public administrations, experts in economics and business organization. The position of Director lasts four years and can be renewed only once, with a motivated decision based on a positive evaluation of the results obtained, for a further four years.
