Un Frecciarossa special dedicated to General Carlo Alberto from the Church 40 years after his brutal assassination. To promote and present the initiative on Wednesday 7 September, at the Roma Termini station, the managing director of FS Italiane, Luigi Ferraris, in a ceremony attended by, among others, the Minister of Defense Lorenzo Guerini and the General Commander of the Carabinieri, General Teo Luzi.
The Frecciarossa which sees the face of Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa depicted on the sides, a tribute by the Group to a symbol of the fight against terrorism and mafia, will travel from 8 September to 31 October from Turin, where the General commanded the historic 'Pietro Micca' barracks up to Reggio Calabria, thus crossing some of the places where the Church lived and worked. A way to keep alive his commitment and his sacrifice, 40 years after mafia massacre in Via Carini in Palermo where his wife Emanuela Setti Carraro and the escort agent Domenico Russo also lost their lives.
Ferraris: "A model of loyalty to the State, freedom and legality"
"General Carlo Alberto dalla Chiesa represented a model of fidelity to the State and to its highest democratic values: freedom and legality", Ferraris recalled him, placing particular emphasis in his speech on a phrase that the general loved to repeat, also transcribed on the sides of the Frecciarossa. “Certain things are not done out of courage, they are done only to look more serenely in the eyes of one's children and our children's children”.
In his speech, the number one of the Group recalled some of the initiatives adopted by FS in the battle for legality: the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Carabinieri for contrasting criminal infiltration in tenders and construction sites and for safety in the workplace and the new one Anti-corruption policy of the FS Group for the prevention of corruption.
The image of the General from the Church will also be displayed in the coming weeks on the monitors on board all the Frecce trains, on the self-services and on the totems located in the ARROWLounge e ARROW Club present in the stations visited by this special Frecciarossa.
