Italian exports to Bric are growing, driven by Lombardy, Emilia and Veneto

Italian exports to Bric are growing, driven by Lombardy, Emilia and Veneto

In the first seven months of 2011, the export of Italian products to emerging countries grew by 14,5%. The Lombardy is the region that exports the most, while Emilia Romagna surpasses Veneto.

Positive data for the Made in Italy: the demand coming from the huge markets of emerging countries have led to a strong growth in our exports. In fact, from January to July of this year, Italian products did very well on the markets Brazil, Russia, China and India and they scored +14,5.

The most relevant market is the Chinese one which absorbs 35,9% of exports to the Brics (and not Brics, South Africa is excluded), followed by Russia with 33,5%, Brazil with 16,5% and India with 14,2, XNUMX%.

From the Confartigianato report, emerges the decisive contribution from the Emilian companies which, compared to 2010, have surpassed the Veneto ones placing Emilia Romagna (+16,5%) in second place, behind Lombardy (+30,5%), in the ranking of regions that export the most.

In third place, slightly behind, Veneto (+15,9), then Piedmont (10,3%) and Tuscany (6,4%), while Friuli Venezia Giulia is the most dynamic region in Italy: between June 2010 and June 2011 it recorded an increase of 58,7%. Abruzzo also did well with a growth of 35,4%. At the provincial level, Milan is confirmed as the export capital, followed by Turin, Treviso and Bologna.

But what do we export to the Bric? Above all machinery and equipment, equal to 37,9% of the total, which mostly end up in China. In Brazil, on the other hand, we mainly sell cars, trailers and semi-trailers (6,1% of the total), while i Russians buy a large part of electrical and household appliances.

Looking at the global market, the data for is also positive August-October quarter: exports +1,5%, imports -0,5%. Even in the economic analysis, from January to October 2011, exports (+16,4%) maintain a small margin of advantage over imports (+15,7).

But the made in Italy is growing not only among the Brics, but also in Switzerland (+36,3%), in Southeast Asia (+17,7%), in Japan (+16,6%), and in the United States (+7,4 ,XNUMX%).

The sore points concern the month of October instead. The political uncertainty of recent weeks and the sudden worsening of the economic crisis throughout the euro area has certainly not helped Italian exports, which have experienced a black month: in fact, Istat indicates a drop of -5,1%, while imports underwent a slight increase of 0,2%. It was the worst result since 2009.
