Inter back in the lead: towards a thrilling Italian derby with Juve. Napoli flops and Garcia leaves. Only draw between Lazio and Roma

The Nerazzurri liquidate Frosinone and overtake Juve again – Sensational debacle in the 90th minute for Napoli, defeated at home by Empoli: Garcia sacked – O-0 in the Capital derby

Inter back in the lead: towards a thrilling Italian derby with Juve. Napoli flops and Garcia leaves. Only draw between Lazio and Roma

THEInter regains the lead and launches the challenge against Juventus. 26th November, immediately after the national break, there will be direct confrontation of the Stadium and we will understand more about the balance of power in this Scudetto fight, in the meantime, however, the Nerazzurri have given yet another proof that they do not suffer from pressure, not even with the Bianconeri involved. But Sunday's news concerns the Napoli, beaten by Empoli and now close to changing coach: Garcia, in fact, has been sacked, now all that remains is to see who will take his place, with Tudor favored over Cannavaro. Draw without goals, finally, in Capital derby between Lazio and Roma, with two teams who preferred a "safe" point to a possible defeat.

Inter – Frosinone 2-0, a Eurogoal from Dimarco and Calhanoglu bring Inzaghi back to the top

Juve had thrown the glove, Inter picked it up and put it in their pocket. The 2-0 over Frosinone the counter-overtaking on the bianconeri is worth it, very important considering the direct clash on 26 November, which Inzaghi will be able to play with a two-point advantage in the standings. Not that Di Francesco's Ciociari had many possibilities, but the risk of a psychophysical decline was there, even more so against a motivated and offensive team. In these cases, however, the champions make the difference and Inter have several of them, some more publicized and others less: Marco's is part of the second category, but yesterday he decided to take the cover with a goal that risks becoming the best of the championship. The shot from 56 meters, moreover from the sideline, is a real jewel, even superior (in terms of difficulty coefficient, of course) to those of Recoba (in Empoli in 1998) and Stankovic (Genoa and Schalke 04 in 2009 and 2011). The first half was ending at 0-0 and Inter could have been nervous, but the stroke of genius changed the momentum of the match, so much so that the second goal came at the start of the second half with a Calhanoglu penalty (48', foul by Monterisi on Thuram). The dispute basically ended there, also because Frosinone hit the post (Cheddira) and Lautaro, for once, took an evening off, even allowing himself the luxury of missing a goal he scored.

Inzaghi replies to Allegri: “Are we favorites for the Scudetto? We're certainly not the richest."

"Dimarco scored a Eurogoal which will be touring the world, it deserves it – he underlined Inzaghi -. It was a balanced moment in the match, we had created something by making a slight mistake in finishing, then came this great goal which opened the match and in the second half the 2-0 which gave us a calm finish. Are we favorites for the Scudetto? No, I don't like grills. We promise the fans to try to play as many matches as possible, like last year, then there are many well-equipped teams: we are not the richest because in the latest signing campaigns we have made profits of 120, 30 million and zero despite the Champions League final ”.

Napoli – Empoli 0-1, Garcia at the end of the line: Tudor on pole, Cannavaro the alternative

Total disaster instead for Napoli, defeated by Empoli at the end of a bad performance, in line with the last ones at Maradona. The goal by Kovalenko in full injury time (91') puts an end to the Garcia era, a month later than De Laurentiis's will. The Italian president, in fact, would have liked to sack him already in the previous break, but Conte's refusal forced him to change plans and move forward with him, in the hope that the easy calendar would help him get the situation back on track. There confidence But there never really was, as demonstrated by the almost permanent presence in Castelvolturno and at the stadium, for a sort of "commissionership" which, however, in light of the results, did not pay off. The French coach knew he couldn't make any more mistakes, perhaps this is why he chose to face Empoli with an unprecedented 4-2-3-1 with Kvaratskhelia and Zielinski on the bench. Desperate move, a sort of last dance that ended up costing him dearly, even if it's fair to say that the starters were all on the pitch at the time of Kovalenko's goal. At halftime ADL stormed into the locker room like a fury, and then ran away at the final whistle, not before imposing press blackout on his members: theexemption is safe, so much so that the coach has already been informed that he will not lead the next training sessions. What is certain is that the team will be entrusted to a ferryman with Igor Tudor in pole position, even if the candidacy of Fabio Cannavaro emerged, yesterday in the stands at Maradona. In the next few hours we will know more, but the Garcia era can be considered (sadly) archived.

Lazio – Roma 0-0, the fear of losing reigns over the Capital derby

Much ado about nothing. The Capital derby it promised sparks, both for what had happened during the week between Sarri and Mourinho and for the results of Milan, Napoli and Atalanta, stopped by Lecce, Empoli and Udinese. Instead Lazio-Roma he gave very little away from the entertainment point of view, confirming its very heavy stakes: the two teams, despite the tempting possibility of moving closer to the Champions League zone, they preferred not to lose than trying (seriously) to win. Of course, there were some opportunities and both, with a little more luck, could have taken the full spoils, but the result, all things considered, is right. Roma were better at the beginning of the two halves, in particular in the first with two chances from Karsdorp, while Lazio improved at a distance, ending up creating the clearest scoring opportunities, one with Luis Alberto (post), the other with Romagnoli ( great save by Rui Patricio). However, there was little to report on the front of the strikers, given that both Immobile and Lukaku were mainly empty-headed, as were Dybala and the two Lazio offensive wingers Felipe Anderson and Pedro. It was not a match for refined palates, but only and exclusively for lovers of competitiveness: in that sense the Rome derby, as we know, never disappoints.

Sarri: "Mourinho and I are two pains..., but we love each other"

"I'm satisfied, the team seems to be growing, we just need to rediscover the offensive danger of last year - theSarri's analysis -. Then this is a special match, it is the most popular derby in Italy and if you can't win it then you shouldn't lose it. Compared to last year we are losing the aspect of jumping the man, but from a defensive point of view the team is doing well. Immobile is also better, we hope that in the next two weeks he can improve more and I think the goal in the Champions League did him good. What did Mourinho and I say to each other? What's up?We're two break-ins, but we love each other. I like it less when he plays the character, but the person is of a high level."

Mourinho: “It was a draw, but it's always better than a defeat”

"It was a draw, a point is positive and is better than a defeat – the thought of Mourinho -. A draw is better than nothing, especially when playing against a team with the same objectives, plus we didn't lose ground against a direct opponent. The referee? He booked our central defenders in 25 minutes with a criterion that he only uses with us: Pedro then throws himself in in a fantastic way, he could swim... Sarri? He is always ultra-nice to me. We talked before the game and joked about what we said to each other during the week. However, we love each other and I told him that in the next two weeks none of us will laugh, but neither will we cry...".
