Inter: will the Befana bring the winter scudetto? Against Verona at San Siro a draw is enough to win it

After the draw in Genoa, Inzaghi no longer wants distractions and is aiming for victory to win the winter title. Here are the lineups for today's advances

Inter: will the Befana bring the winter scudetto? Against Verona at San Siro a draw is enough to win it

set point Inter. After the draw with Genoa, which was followed by Juventus' victory over Roma, the Nerazzurri try again to take the winter title against Verona. A mission far from impossible, also in light of the enormous problems of Baroni's team (Setti, under investigation for fraudulent bankruptcy, is selling some of the best pieces), but to be accomplished at all costs, otherwise risking the sensational overtaking by Juventus. To complete the previews of the 19th matchday, which began yesterday with the draw between Bologna and Genoa (1-1, goals from Gudmundsson and De Silvestri), Frosinone-Monza (15pm), Lecce-Cagliari (18pm) and Sassuolo-Fiorentina (20.45pm) ), the latter being very delicate both in terms of the Champions League (the Viola could increase their lead) and salvation.

Inter – Verona (12.30 pm, Dazn)

San Siro will turn on the spotlight already at lunchtime, in the hope of celebrating the Epiphany in the best possible way with the "winter championship". To do this, even a draw would be enough, given the enormous advantage in goal difference (+34) compared to Juve (+16), but it is clear that any result other than victory would have been a terrible experience. The superiority over Verona, only one success in the last 16 matches, is enormous, furthermore the draw from Marassi should have "woken up" the Inzaghi gang, forced to keep their antennas straight to avoid the Juventus overtaking. To lend a hand to the coach, then, there will be Lautaro Martinez, again skilled and enlisted after his absences with Lecce and Genoa: last Friday's slowdown, although physiological, coincided precisely with his absence and this is certainly not a case. More generally, however, the Nerazzurri must not make mistakes also due to calendar issues, given that the next two months will be decidedly full of commitments, in light of an Italian Super Cup which will force them to compress several matches. Juve could thus face the direct clash on 4 February and Inter, despite having the wild card of recovery with Atalanta, does not want to upset too many balances.

Inter – Verona, the lineups: Lautaro starts, Buchanan can't play yet

The most important return, as previously mentioned, is that of Lautaro, ready to return to the pitch from the start to breathe new life into the Nerazzurri attack. His absence, despite Arnautovic's first goal in the championship, was felt, so Inzaghi will launch him immediately from the first minute, thus recomposing the super couple with Thuram. The coach also finds Dimarco again (bench), while he will not be able to count on the new signing Buchanan, who arrived this week from Bruges for 7 million plus 3 million in bonuses: the winger will make his debut next Saturday in Monza, in the meantime he will sit in the stands of San Siro to watch from I live the new companions. The Inter 3-5-2 will thus see Sommer in goal, Pavard, Acerbi and Bastoni in defence, Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan and Carlos Augusto in midfield, Thuram and Lautaro in attack. Baroni will attempt the feat with a 4-2-3-1 with Montipò between the posts, Tchatchoua, Coppola, Magnani and Doig in the defensive department, Folorunsho and Duda in the midfield, Ngonge, Suslov and Lazovic behind the lone striker Djuric.
