FS: RFI awards Edison Energia with a 64 million contract for green electricity

Italian Railway Network (RFI), a company controlled by the FS Group, has awarded a Edison Energy a 64 million euro contract for the annual supply of 100 GWh of electricity certified as "green", coming from renewables.

This supply, which will extend across the entire national territory, will be destined for a variety of plants and structures, including offices, technological rooms, stations and other fixed systems of the Italian railway infrastructure.

RFI's commitment to decarbonisation

The assignment of this contract to Edison Energia is part of a broader context of environmental and sustainability strategies adopted by RFI. The railway company is actively involved in a decarbonization process, aimed at progressively reducing its carbon emissions through the adoption of renewable energy sources and decreasing energy dependence.

Edison Energia has been supplying energy to the Italian Railway Network since 2017 and is one of the main operators in the electricity and natural gas market for multi-site customers.
