Yesterday the USA, today Chile. Enel continues to thin out its assets and this morning announced that it has perfected together with Enel Chile the sale of a portfolio of photovoltaic systems from 416 megawatts to the international renewable energy producer Sonnedix, for a total consideration of 556 million US dollars, equal to approximately 525 million euros.
Yesterday, however, the electricity company led by Flavio Cattaneo had announced the sale of renewable assets in the United States through its subsidiary Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) by signing an agreement with Ormat Technologies.
Positive impact on debt and net profit
As a consequence of the Chilean operation, says a note from Enel, a positive impact on thenet borrowing of the Enel Group equal to approximately 525 million euro and onNet income reported Group revenue for 2023 amounting to approximately 50 million euros. However, the transaction is not expected to have any impact on the Group's ordinary economic results. The operation, in line with the Strategic Priorities of the Enel Group, contributes to the objective of constantly improving the profitability of invested capital to support future development plans.
The signature, explains a note from Enel, occurred following the fulfillment of all the conditions precedent provided for in the purchase and sale agreement signed on 12 July 2023, including the authorization by the Chilean antitrust authority Fiscalía Nacional Económica (FNE ).
Four photovoltaic systems for sale
The portfolio consists of four photovoltaic systems located in the Atacama and Antofagasta regions in the northern part of Chile, specifically: Diego de Almagro (36 MW, operational since 2014), Carrera Pinto (97 MW, operational since 2016), Pampa Solar Norte (79 MW, operational since 2016) and Domeyko (204 MW, operational from 2022), which together generate approximately 1 TWh per year of net generation.
