After days of rumors, the official confirmation that users have been waiting for has arrived: Meta has made an important update for Instagram official. It's been possible for a few hours now edit a message exchanged with another user in chat. But only within 15 minutes of first sending. Before the news, the only possible option was delete completely the sentence and rewrite it.
Instagram: ok to edit messages. How you do it?
To edit a message already sent, simply press and hold the text and select, from the drop-down menu, the “edit” button. The edited message will show the wording "modified" in the conversation, so as to make the interlocutor understand that it is a modified sentence, albeit without displaying which parts have been changed.
The news announced by Meta (the parent company) for Instagram aligns the App with platforms such as Messenger, Whatsapp, Telegram and iMessage from Apple, for which message editing was already enabled.
The editing function arrives on Instagram chats only a few months after the introduction of Meta on WhatsApp and especially Messenger. With the latter, in fact, Instagram continues to share a series of features.
On Instagram it will be possible to set up 3 direct message chats
Another significant addition is the ability to pin up to three chats on Instagram direct messages at the top of the context menu, offering support for both group chats and one-to-one conversations. To do this, simply swipe left or tap and hold on a chat to select the “fixed” option and keep the window at the top of the messaging interface, making it easy to access your most important conversations or those with the people you talk to most frequently.
Users will finally have the option to activate or deactivate the read receipts and reply to messages with stickers, animated images, videos, photos and audio files.
