Monetary policy is still the guiding star of the markets, which however do not find much inspiration in the news of the day today. The dollar strengthens and the euro retreats after the slowdown in inflation recorded in November in the single currency area, which consolidates the chances of a stop to increases by the ECB and a change of direction next year. In truth, the markets have also been betting on a turning point by the Fed since March and even estimate a cut of up to 1,25 points next year. However, there are many variables, given the geopolitical framework and the movements of oil, which is not on the downward slope despite OPEC+'s commitments to further cuts.
