DHL Supply Chain, a global leader in contract logistics, appointed on August 16 Rainer Haag new CEO DHL Supply Chain Europe. In his new role, Haag will lead 16 Central European markets, which have experienced strong and consistent growth in recent years, reporting directly to Hendrik Venter, previously head of DHL Supply Chain Europe, Middle East and Africa and now appointed CEO DHL Supply Chain and member of the Management Board of DHL Group.

During his first official visit to Italy as the new CEO of DHL Supply Chain Europe, Haag underlined the strategic importance of our country within the European network.
DHL: A visit to the carbon-neutral campus in Borgo San Giovanni
Together with Antonio Lombardo, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Italy, and part of the Management Team, Haag visited the Carbon-neutral campus in Borgo San Giovanni, in the heart of the Milan South district, to experience operational excellence firsthand. During the visit, the new CEO of Europe was able to observe firsthand the progress of construction on the new 5-square-meter "Borgo 30" warehouse, which will be completed by the end of 2025 and will meet Platinum LEED standards, in line with the Group's sustainability goals.
Rainer Haag reiterated the strategic importance of Italy in the Central European Region: “For DHL Supply Chain, Italy represents a solid and growing market thanks to over 50 highly specialized sites and a strong presence in sectors such as Life Sciences & Healthcare, Technology, FMCG, Industrial, e-commerce and Retail, and to the management of specialized transport networks in all major sales channelsI was impressed to see firsthand how Italy is actively pursuing sustainability, innovation, and automation solutions, key pillars of the Dhal Group's 2030 Strategy and essential factors for growth in the country and beyond."
Rainer Haag joined DHL Group in 2010 as Director of Operations in Spain and has since built a distinguished leadership career across various markets and sectors. His roles include Managing Director Life Sciences & Healthcare Germany, Managing Director DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, and most recently CEO of Germany & Alps, where he drove significant growth and operational excellence. In Florstadt, near Frankfurt am Main, he oversaw the development of DHL's Life Sciences & Healthcare Hub, transforming it into a cornerstone of DHL's global Health Logistics network.
