Where has the gigantic common sense and usual realism of the Minister of Defense gone? Guido Crosetto, until some time ago considered by all to be one of the best ministers of the Meloni government? For a few days Crosetto has visibly lost his bearings and onUkraine supports aberrant theses against the orientation of White House and Ue. Crosetto incredibly condemned the Ukrainian "invasion" of Russia ("No country must invade another country") hypocritically putting Kiev and Moscow on the same level and forgetting that Putin's invasion was very aggressive and aimed at conquering territories while that Ukrainian is a counteroffensive aimed solely at strengthening the power of Zelensky at the future negotiating table. Crosetto, and it is the first time this has happened, has dissociated himself from Europe and the White House, dealing another blow to the international credibility ofItaly, already low after Meloni's No to the re-election of Ursula Von der Leyen which isolated our country in the Union. Crosetto's exit thrilled the pro-Russian leader of the League, Matteo Salvini, who immediately rejoiced, and received the support of the fearful Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani (who knows what the Berlusconi family may have said). The President of the Republic will certainly not be happy, Sergio Mattarella, who has always made full support for Ukraine, within a framework of strong cohesion with Europe and democratic America, the identity card of the best Italy and who perhaps will have something to say to Crosetto, which he certainly deserves to immediately end up down the tower.
And what does Meloni think? The prime minister leaked her veiled dissent to Crosetto but then she left for holidays and remained silent. It is time to strike a blow and confirm, without the slightest doubt, Italy's support for the courageous Ukraine and the indomitable Zelensky.
