Centrale del Latte di Torino wants to privatize companies in Italy to enhance the market

Centrale del Latte di Torino is inclined towards the privatization of companies in the sector in Italy, while abroad, after the trade agreement to export to China, it is awaiting the unblocking of some procedures in Russia. This is what was explained by the company's management during the Star conference 2014.

"We continue to monitor the public companies that should be privatized but that the municipalities are not yet selling", said the president Luigi Luzzati on the sidelines of the presentation, adding that, for example, the Brescia milk plant, the auctions so far have not seen the participation of buyers as conditions are not conducive to the entry of investors with a substantial stake. The president then recalled that the plants in Florence and Salerno should also be decommissioned.

As regards exports, Luzzati underlined that the five-year agreement with China has "very great potential" even if there are no precise figures yet and a clearer vision will only be available at the end of the year. Last year, the Chinese company, with which Centrale Latte Torino signed an agreement, imported 1.000 containers from France. Exported long-life and soya milk is at the very top end of the Chinese market, but there is a potential catchment area of 150 million consumers, Luzzati underlined.

On the Russia front, the president recalled that Centrale Latte Torino had contacts with two Russian importing companies but there are problems, frequent in Russia, with certifications. “Our practice is stuck at the ministry in Moscow,” he explained.

The Italian market remains very difficult due to the increase in raw material prices and the drop in consumption. “I don't think the situation will change for the first part of the year, let's see how the second goes”, said CEO Nicola Codispoti.

At the end of the morning, the stock gained 1,94% with a price of 3,79.
