Cassa Depositi e Prestiti improves the sustainability ratings assigned by the rating agency Iss Esg, among the main global market leaders in the evaluation of ESG factors.
In the last update in April, CDP's rating increased by one level compared to the previous rating, passing from C- to C on the agency's rating scale.
“With this upgrade, CDP reaches for the first time the “Prime” status in the ISS ESG ranking, awarded to the best-in-class companies in each sector, and is positioned above the average of its reference sector (“Development Banks”) , currently made up of around 50 companies in total assessed by the agency on an international scale", CDP explains with satisfaction in a note, underlining that "this result represents further recognition of the growing and transversal integration of sustainability at company level and follows the improvements in ESG performance obtained in recent months by other specialized international rating agencies, such as Moody's Analytics and Morningstar Sustainalytics".
Cdp improves in "Social & Governance" and in working conditions
There are two dimensions in which CDP has improved its results: "Social & Governance", assessed with a rating level of B-, above the average of its reference sector, and in the "Labor standards and working conditions”, which takes into consideration the well-being of employees.
Among the company's other strengths, Iss Esg recognizes the broad offer of financial services with high social and environmental benefits, intended for example for the construction of hospitals, schools, social housing, but also for projects in the sectors of energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable mobility. In addition, the adoption of is highlighted Esg criteria for the evaluation and monitoring of its financing and investment activities, also in terms of ex-post impact. Finally, the solid management of corporate ethical issues and the high degree of transparency of information at company level are positively assessed.
