Banco Bpm and Sace: 12 million to Tper for the purchase of electric trains in Emilia Romagna

Tper SpA (Emilia-Romagna Passenger Transport), the Emilia-Romagna mobility group that manages local public road transport in the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara and to a lesser extent in the provinces of Modena and Ravenna, received a financing of 12 million of euros disbursed by Bpm bank and assisted by Green guarantee di Sace at 80%.

Purchase of two electric traction trains

The operation concerns thepurchase of two electric traction trains which will replace the diesel vehicles currently used by Trenitalia-Tper on the regional railway network. In this operation, Sace will contribute by providing the Green guarantee, thus allowing for a further strengthening of the environmental sustainability of the company's activities.

Tper points to grow as an industrial group of sustainable mobility as also stated in the presentation of the 2022 budget where he paid particular attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) issues. During the first six months of 2023, Tper completed a financing operation divided into three separate lines, for a total of 93 million euro, intended for investments in innovative projects. These funds will also be used in collaboration with the funds available for sustainable mobility and the resources of the Pnrr, in collaboration with the institutions.

Banco Bpm and Sace in support of sustainable mobility

Sace, in the context of the Italian ecological transition, plays a leading role. The Group is able to provide green guarantees for domestic projects aimed at facilitating the transition to an economy with a lower environmental impact. This includes integrating low-emission technologies into production processes for the creation of sustainable goods and services, as well as boosting initiatives that promote cleaner and more sustainable mobility.

This operation is part of one green agreement between SACE and Banco BPM, in which the Group, controlled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, provides a guarantee for loans for large industrial conversion projects and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) wishing to reduce their environmental impact and start a sustainable transformation .

The funding falls within the strategic objectives of Banco BPM to support companies that are committed to improving their sustainability profile according to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria. Alongside TPER, Banco BPM wants to support sustainable mobility which allows us to look to the future, take up the challenge of the energy transition and invest in the development of new, increasingly eco-sustainable vehicles.
