They are 10 million Italians who have decided to treat themselves to a trip for the All Saints' Day Bridge. Of these, 8,9 million will remain in Italy, preferring art locations and, subsequently, the mountains and open-air places. Just over a million people, however, have decided to go abroad, opting for a large capital city that is easily reachable by hotel. expected average length of holiday is around 3,3 days for a total of 19,8 million overnight stays away from home. The average cost? 462 euros per person. These are some of the data that emerge from a survey published by Federalberghi.
All Saints' Day: Where Italians Go on Holiday
Among Types of stay The top choices for Italians to spend the long weekend are the homes of relatives and friends (36,9%) while 11% will go to their own home. As for accommodation, 20,8% will go to a hotel.
As for the destinations, the30,2% of travellers will opt for an art city. They are followed by the mountains (22,3%), the sea (22,1%), lake resorts (3,2%) and spas (2,9%). From a geographical perspective, according to the Confcommercio Tourism Observatory, the preferred regions are Tuscany, Lazio and Campania, followed by Puglia, Lombardy, Sicily and Trentino Alto Adige.
In 57,5% of cases, Federalberghi underlines, it is precisely the proximity to one's home to orient the choice towards locations within their own region, it is no coincidence that 70,3% decided to travel by car, 16,8% by plane and 4,3% by train.
Ognissanti Bridge: turnover between 3 and 6 billion
Confcommercio Tourism Observatory in collaboration with Swg predicts a total expenditure just under € 3,5 billion, while, according to Federalberghi, the All Saints' Day long weekend will produce an overall turnover of 4,6 billion euros. Even higher is the estimate by CNA Tourism and Commerce which foresees an overall economic movement of approximately 6 billion euros.
