The novelty, which is not exactly novelty, comes with an amendment to the Sostegni decree already approved by Parliament, which extends until the end of the year the increase in funds destined for so-called fringe benefits – which rose from 258,23 to 516,46 euros for each employee – which workers can use to buy goods and services. By taking advantage of the 516,46 euro bonus, workers can buy desks, ergonomic chairs and lighting products to work better from home. In fact, since March 2020, smart working has become the predominant way of working in Italy and around the world. In our country, there are 5 million workers who, according to estimates by the Smart Working Observatory, have left offices to work from home, replacing desks with dining tables, work chairs with the classic kitchen chair or with the sofa in the living room. Health was affected by back pain, headaches and joint pains. By taking advantage of the bonus, however, it is possible to buy everything you need to work more comfortably, safeguarding your physical well-being.

According to a study carried out by Ambrosetti and quoted by the economic newspaper, thanks to these 516 euros, 1,6 billion euros of consumption could potentially be set in motion in the country, with an increase or total of 794 million euros (251,5, 19 euros per capita). A figure that will also help the wood-furniture sector recover from the economic crisis triggered by the Covid-XNUMX pandemic.
HOW TO GET THE 516 EURO BONUS
The bonus for the purchase of goods and services has existed for some time, but with the August Decree the planfold was doubled, while with the support decree its validity was extended until the end of the year. Despite this, there are few companies that use it and even fewer manufacturing companies that have entered into agreements with welfare platforms to promote their products. Employees who intend to take advantage of the bonus to purchase office furniture must therefore contact their company which in turn must agree on the inclusion of desks, chairs and lighting products within the fringe benefits granted. The state will pay for everything.
